FAQ

What’s the difference between mass and weight?
Mass is how much matter you have (kg/lb). Weight is the force due to gravity (Newtons). Scales measure force but show an Earth-equivalent mass.
Why show kg/lb “scale readings”?
We compute the Earth-calibrated mass reading: scale_reading = true_weight / gₑ in kg (then ×2.20462 for lb).
Where do gravity values come from?
Standard mean surface gravities (m/s²): Mercury 3.70, Venus 8.87, Earth 9.80665, Moon 1.62, Mars 3.71, Jupiter 24.79, Saturn 10.44, Uranus 8.87, Neptune 11.15, Pluto 0.62, Ceres 0.27.
